9 years and counting...

sweet love, we have been married 9 years and it just keeps getting better! i keep thinking i don't know how i'll ever love you more, but i keep waking up another day and i do! thank you for being my best friend and my everything else. i wouldn't be me without you.

(this song was in our wedding. watch the video-that won't embed- if you don't know it. plus, here are the lyrics.)

Home To You--John Michael Montgomery
I get up and battle the day
Things don't always go my way
It might rain but that's okay
I get to come home to you
Sometimes life may get me down
And I get tired of getting kicked around
I feel lost in this maddening crowd
But I get to come home to you

You are my best friend
And you are where my heart is
And I know at the day's end
I get to come home to you

Hanging out in our old sweatshirts
You let me complain about a hard day's work
I don't know what I did to deserve
To get to come home to you

You are my best friend
And you are where my heart is
And I know at the day's end
I get to come home to you

You are my best friend
And you are where my heart is
And I know at the day's end
I get to come home to you

Yes I get to come home to you
Oh I love coming home to you

ps--fun fact...micah and i get each other ornaments every year for our anniversary. somehow, we haven't gotten each other the same one. this year, however...this is the year i was sure it was love. he told me he tried to find me a "twilight/edward" ornament. i think i'll keep him. he gets me.

a Christmas giveaway!!

i thought that might get your attention!! since i tend to leave yall from time to time without good explanation, i thought i'd try to win you over spread some Christmas cheer with a giveaway! this one is for the kiddies. first of all, let me say that i am having a stinkin' hard time with the gift thing this year. but not so much with the kids, with the adults. but i'm also finding that i am running out of time, and fast. i have a shin-dig a week earlier than i originally thought, so i have to get with it!! like yesterday!

anyway, i have teamed up with Kera from SisterBug (and the Honea Bees) just in time for a Christmas quickie. if you need just one more think for your little one, or need something cute for the stocking, this is IT!!! it is a crayon roll and it will come in either the ladybug print for the girls or the football print for the boys!

all you have to do it leave me a comment! (and i'm hoping this will draw you out of your reader to do just that!! i know you are hiding.) and yall know i just love ya. you can get an extra entry by commenting about it on your facebook page!! (just let me know that you did.) i'll pick a winner on Friday morning!!

wanna know...

what i'll be up to later today? i've got two girls that will be getting tutus for Christmas, and I can't wait to try them out!! How does one make a tutu? so glad you asked! Head on over to my friend Paige and her sister Brooke's crafty webpage. it's one you won't want to miss. The are so creative and it's stuff that is waaaaay easy. trust me when i tell you that if i can figure it out (and everything i attempt is self taught...which isn't saying much) then you can do it too!! for this project, you don't even have to have a sewing machine. if you have a needle and thread, DO IT!! tell them i sent ya!! I'll update with a picture later!!

cuteness of christmas past...

i don't care who you are...that's cute right there!! if i do say so myself. i see so many facial expressions in AC as i do myself...even at that similar age. this christmas, she will be 2.5 months younger than i was in these pictures and i hope hers is as fun as mine was!!

does anyone who may still be reading this (since i have been so out of touch) have any favorite past christmases you want to share??

tasty tuesday

wow! it's been a while, huh? life does that, especially this time of year. (i assure you that my going to see New Moon 3x has absolutely nothing to do with my absence.)

Susannah called me out on her blog for a recipe that i KNOW i have posted on here before. but for the life of me i can't find it. so here we go again. she called them "butterscotchies". i call them chocolate covered peanut butter krispies. but you know how i am with naming food. but here you go. perfect for the upcoming holidays. (let your belt out now!!)

You will need:
6 cups rice krispies
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
1 cup corn syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips

Mix PB, sugar and corn syrup on medium heat until the sugar and PB dissolve. Pour mix over cereal and stir until well blended. Spread into a 9x13 pan. Melt all "chips" together and stir until smooth. spread over the top of the krispies. put in refrigerator to set.
