i have no idea...

within the last two days seth has said some funny stuff. here is your laugh to get you through the end of the week. warning, you may never look at intimate apparel the same way again.

while walking through walmart, we pass the ladies undergarments. while spotting a padded bra...wait...get the image in your head...he says:

"Hey Mama, what is that?"

i keep on strolling, not thinking twice about it. "It's a bra, Seth." To which he replies:

"Oh, like you could wear it on your face while you mow the grass?"

i had to stop the buggy and lean over on the bar i was laughing so hard. You see, Micah has terrible allergies and wears a mask that looks like this while he mows...so...you get it.

I've also been working on trying to write down some House Rules, some sort of physical reminder of how we should act and how we should help (more to come on that later.) so after church tonight i asked the kids what they thought the house rules were. the one they had to learn the hard way today was "keep your hands to yourself." i knew that one was coming. then seth said:

"and no kicking...except if you are wrestling or doing karate on each other."

clearly he gets it.

after a few minutes had passed they were telling the same mind-numbing joke over and over so it was obviously time for the quiet game (which i'm sure luke would like for me to tell you that he always wins.) after a minute or two of being quiet (and constantly reminding sissy what quiet actually means), seth apparently had something really important to say because he whispered,

"Hey Mama, can we pause this game for a minute?"

seriously...it's why i keep him around.

seth said...

i never know what to expect when seth's MMO teacher wants to tell me something seth has said. but i'll go ahead and brag that it's usually good. he is apparently an angel at school. at least his "upbrangin'" is showing somewhere, if not always here. so today, from the tenderhearted copperheaded snake:

one of his little friends had been to the doctor that morning and told seth he had a boo-boo b/c he had his blood drawn. seth, the tenderhearted, patted him on the hand and said "it's ok. i know it hurts. it hurts worse than death."

and on the way home from the same MMO:
we are riding in the car and in a short, but really heavy rain storm that had hail. sister is crying b/c it is so loud and seth had his ears covered.

i said "man. that was rain AND hail. hail is when ice comes out of the sky." (cause my kids know what hell is and i was trying to explain the difference.)
seth said "you know what a commotion is mama? a commotion is a really loud noise and THAT was a commotion!"

yeah. he's been talking that way since before he was 2. just like sister.

minivan moments

on the way home from school...

me: (looking @ Luke's pants that are covered in mud red clay)
son, why are you so filthy?
Luke: i don't know. what's "filfy"?
me: disgustingly dirty
Luke: oh. i played football (same as a couple of days ago which had the same results on his pants.)
me: well, did you have to roll around in the mud to do it? those may not come clean.
Luke: (obviously put out at this point by his mother's complete ignorance) ugh...well i scored 99 touchdowns!
me: well as long as it was 99...

clearly this logic is lost on me as i am a mere girl and mom. (and i'm also currently cussin' blogger for not uploading my picture for the 3rd time.)

minivan moments

a couple of weeks ago, we were on the way to our first soccer game. i decided to pop in a little tune to get the boys "pumped up" for the big game. (and to escape anything they might want to listen to.)


the next time we got in the van seth says "mama...can we listen to the pun'kin up music?"

now, if anyone can tell me where i may have heard this music, as it's not my typical genre, then you get bonus points.
