thank you for your comments on my outdoor decor. you absolutely read my mind!! i'll have to show you what i do.
now, i want you to comment and tell me what kind of forward facing car seat your kiddies have/had. for some odd reason, i didn't realize that car seats expire. the one sis is in is already 6 years old and has held 2 boys before her. i'm thinking we need to upgrade. i want a good seat as she'll be riding it for a good 3 more years. but i don't want to break the bank. but it want it to be safe...and comfy. as i'm sure your children gave you the low down on how they felt about their seat, their opinions are also welcome.

Britax roundabout is the one Anderson likes. It's not too bad, $150-200.
I have a Graco SnugRide convertible... I think that's what it's called. It's from Target... about $75 I think! Both girls used it. And John Martin is in one now too!
Both of my kids used the Britax Marathon and it is wonderful. It is a bit pricy but they can stay in it for a while (unless you have a 45 pound 3 year old that needed a booster with a back because his legs were too long and his body was too big). You have to have a pretty roomy car for it to fit in though. The Britax roundabout is the next one down and I have a ton of friends that used it with three kids side by side. When we first put Granger and Zetta Grace in those seats they looked like they were in adult recliners. Good luck and happy hunting!
I use the Graco Nautilus. It's about $175, I think...I actually got it when they had it randomly on sale. It's good because it keeps them in the 5 point harness until 65lbs, which is longer than most...and it converts to a highback booster and also the backless booster, up to 100lbs. It's all pink and girly too =) I had one before that was a cheapo and Hannah hated it...she always seemed uncomfortable. But this one she doesn't seem to have an issue with.
We have Britax for both of the kids. I have 1 roundabout and 1 marathon. didn't mean to get different ones, but did and one is larger than the other. BUT, they are VERY sturdy seats and I feel more comfortable with my kids in these than in the old ones my mom has for them to ride. They are very cushy and comfortable and worth the price difference. And, sometimes you can find them at the costco. Or you can use your 15% coupons at the BRUs store. The kids can stay in them for a very long time.
Ok - I just had to ask my husband the exact names of our car seats - isn't that awful?! I knew it was a Britax but didn't know the exact name. Anyhoo, we spent a little extra and got the Britax (we think Decathalon) for both girls for my car b/c we knew they would ride in my car 95% of the time. Then, we got the less-expensive Graco (Comfort Sport, I think) for Chris' car. You know what? I actually like the less expensive Graco a bit more. It seems easier to get my kids into for some reason. But both brands are great and the kids can stay in them a long time. I don't think you can go wrong with either of those brands!
We have a Britax and The First Years True Fit which seem to be the two highest safety rated car seats right now. I like our True Fit much better bc it has a cup holder, better fit for my daugher's chubby legs, and the removable head rest extends the life of the chair and allows you to remove it to see little ones but the Britax is a little easier to move from car to car.
Britax marathon for both kids. They are big and a little pricey, but they go up to 60 pounds, and the straps are amazing. I can't believe I just said that, but it's true and it makes a huge difference. We also have the LATCH in both cars and they move in a heartbeat.
I love your blog! Don't know you, but you crack me up! This comment is a little late but I am just catching up on some of my blog reads. BRITAX!!! (Marathon is my favorite). I have four children, 3 little ones. Wouldn't dream of using anything but a Marathon once they're out of an infant seat. Well worth the money!
