do you feel neglected??

sisters, i am ever so sorry i haven't been contributing like i normally do (because i'm SURE you are missing out on my minimal wit!) i have been a little under the weather for a little over a week. i went to my doc last week (one that i used to work for) and basically i have a sinus infection. (and i'm having to suffer through it without a decongestant. more on that in a second.) but it's caused me to lose my voice. that, friends, is something that may have only happened one other time in my life!! it has been strange. but when micah gets home, i have tried to milk it by going on "voice rest". although when i went on my date with him this past saturday and with hillary last night, i kind of broke that rule. well, what am i saying? i break it all the time. who would i be if i couldnt' holler at my fellas? anyway, during that visit, she noticed my heart rate was fast. well, i won't lie. i'm in shape. you know...that kind of shape that is round. and my heart rate has always been kind of fast. but it was 120. beats per minute. yeah. she went through the whole EKG thing and everything. of course, it was normal, just really fast. but it concerned her enough she wouldn't give me a decongestant. so prednisone it is. and prednisone typically makes you gain weight. fortunately it was a low dose. i mean i just went back to my WW meetings this past weekend. how is that gonna help? well, she also decided to check my thyroid and other blood work. how bout this...i have hyperthyroidism!! i am not even lucky enough to have the side effect of weight loss. i mean, is there a sign on my ample hiney that says kick me when i'm down? frus---stration. anywho, because of the symptom of tachycardia, i have to start on a medicine three times a day. and it's a medicine that slows everything down. i'm not not not a happy girl. but i have to do it. i am thinking it is postpartum thyroiditis. which will sometimes then go into hypothyroidism. FUN. seriously...if you aren't 30 yet...run and HIDE!!!

i have things i need to tell you. i went on a girl date and a boy date. i loved them both. but also, my camera battery has decided to die and even the batteries i tried to snake out of my kids toys seem to be dead. so i have no pics to share yet. in the mean time, thank you so much for praying for my friends and friends of friends. if you have a request, please feel free to email me. there is nothing i'd like better to do with my time. please see their blogs for updates. God is certainly showing out in healing these babies!!

Becky, Me first... first, my heart is heavy for you... I don't want you to be discouraged because I know you can lose the weight you want to lose and I bet... you can get off those meds too. I'm so glad you shared this with us... I will be praying for you. I know how incredibly difficult it is to exercise with 3 kids... ok, it's basically impossible... so I'm hoping the folks at WW will adjust your diet so maybe that alone will give you the results you want. I too have a rapid heart rate... it's usually just because my nerves. Do you have a home BP monitor? I was always shocked at how much my BP and pulse would drop at home. Maybe you can start checking it at home... I know you're a nurse so I'm certain you know all of this... but just incase you haven't tried it yet you should. Also, I'm so incredibly jealous of your dinner with Hillary... I wish I could have joined y'all. Did you talk about blogs? Of course you did! :) Ok, be encouraged and know that I'm praying for you. I pray the meds do the job they're supposed to do and I hope that if you can lose the weight you want to lose you can come off of them. My dad was on several BP meds and lost about 50 lbs {he was diabetic and everything... blood sugar was out of control} and with the weightloss alone {and no exercise at all} he came off all the meds {except one}... his DR was shocked. So I know you can do.. keep us posted and it will hold you accountable.

If you would please pray for an amazing family that has lost one baby to a brain tumor and now has another baby just recently diagnosed with a brain tumor, the husband is in seminary.

Their updates can be found at www.maxeyweb.com

You are very kind to take babies prayer requests on your blog. I just happened to click on a link of yours from Darby's blog. Thank you for your compassion!

I will continue to pray for you with this new diagnosis. Hopefully, the new meds will balance everything out and you won't have too many side effects. That is the worst part about RX these days! Love ya!

You are not only such a smart and funny friend, but also I appreciate you sharing your burdens with others. God will use that to make others feel better and to lift you up at the same time. Even though I knew this story, it makes it more real to see in writing and I will keep you on my prayer list.
Oh, and our date was lovely. I hope we can do it again sometime! You know the next place!

WV: pleno: How can plain-o me be so lucky to have such great friends? Especially those who take 42 pictures with their camera b/c my small one is crap-ola. I am so sad that the batteries are dead! Steal from better toys! You can do it!

Well if we aren't one extreme to the other, I don't know what is! How about that, me "po" and you "per".
I've heard of after the baby thyroid issues, but seeing as it's been 13 1/2 years since my last baby, I'm thinking it counts me out.

My SIL had this same issue after baby 1 and didn't know it until it had caused 3 years of infertility trying for baby 2. It also runs on both sides of my family, so I am just waiting...
But, she now has lost a lot of weight and is keeping it regulated with diet and meds. I am sure it is just 1 more thing to have to deal with, but I think you are a strong willed lady and you already have the faith on your side. I will be praying for ya!
